 | Marek K. Dobke, MD graduated from the Medical Academy in Gdansk, Poland in 1974. He is board certified in Plastic Surgery both in the United States and Poland. Throughout his career, Dr. Dobke has combined the practice of plastic surgery with research. From 1982 through 1984, he was a Burn Research Fellow at the University of Texas in Dallas. Subsequently, he took clinical training in General Surgery at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, and Plastic Surgery at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). After completion of his Plastic Surgery Residency at UCSD in 1989, he practiced plastic surgery in San Diego. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has developed a large practice in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, with a special interest and clinical expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast, facial rejuvenation, and application of new technologies in cosmetic surgery. Dr. Dobke's involvement in the cause of treating children with cleft lip and palate is not limited to his practice in the UC, as he also participates with surgical teams for underprivileged patients in Mexico. Dr. Dobke not only practices cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, he also teaches others how to become plastic surgeons. In 1996, he became the Chief of Plastic Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - New Jersey Medical School and Plastic Surgery Residency Program Director. In 2000 he returned to Southern California and became the Head of Plastic Surgery and Residency Program at UCSD. Dr. Dobke treats patients with compassion and offers solid care and skills.
